A Life-Changing Experience!

About Camp SAY : AU

Overview

Camp SAY: AU is a 5-night, sleep-away summer camp for young people who stutter, ages 7-18. Camp SAY: AU combines a high-quality, traditional camp experience with specialised programs and activities that help kids and teens who stutter develop confidence and independence, and form important lifelong friendships and supports.

Camp SAY: AU is hosted at Log Cabin Camp.

Campers are welcomed by a super-friendly staff, many of whom also stutter, and immediately see that Camp SAY: AU is a very special place of acceptance, support, and encouragement. Camp SAY: AU is a life-changing summer camp where young people who stutter are free to have fun and stutter as openly as they choose – and everyone ALWAYS gets as much time as they need to speak!

Location

Log Cabin Camp is a fully accredited Australian Camping Association Campsite. It is located on 36 acres on the outskirts of a pretty town called Creswick, 15 minutes from Ballarat and 100km from the Ring Rd. "As President and Camp Director I will oversee all camp activties and will get to know each and every camper personally. During your child's time at camp, they will truly become part of our Camp SAY: AU family.

As a person who stutters, I understand the unique challenges faced by children who stutter, how these challenges can negatively impact their lives and hinder their ability to fully express themselves.

I, and all of our camp staff, are dedicated to creating a safe and accepting environment where every child can find their beautiful and unique voice."

Camp Counselors

Our camp team provides an exceptional staff-to-camper ratio of 1 staff member for every 2-3 campers. In addition, each bunk is staffed at night with at least 2 camp counselors, for an average of 6-8 campers.

All camp counselors complete a comprehensive training program designed to support the social, emotional and physical needs of all of our campers and includes extensive information about stuttering, camper health and safety, camp philosophy, policies and procedures and much more.

All camp counselors will have up-to-date WWCC and Federal Police Checks.
